Do you think it’s too late for you to become a PM?

You might be wrong.

There’s a dangerous and limiting belief that you can be “too old” to become a product manager.

It’s just not true.

To learn how to break into PM without experience, check out the deep dive.

You’d be surprised how some of the best PMs are actually older, more experienced people:

· Former professional sportsmen
· Prior artists
· Academics

They can all make great PMs.

You can switch into PM at 25, 45, or 55.

Here’s what you should do:

1. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁:

Subscribe to product management newsletters and read the canonical content like Inspired, Escaping the Build Trap, and Continuous Product Discovery

2. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿:

Internal transfers tend to be easier; otherwise, PM your own product and demonstrate the skills to break into the job itself.

𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗨𝗩𝗣:

Breaking into a field like PM is awfully hard, so sell YOUR unique value proposition (UVP). Pull out your unique life story and tie it back to the core PM skills.

You’d be surprised how many people have transformed their lives with this journey. You can do it too.

You are not too old. And it is not too late.
